Spring is the time of New Beginnings and the planting of seeds. It is a time to decide what kind of “seeds” one wishes to see sprout in one’s life and what attitudes, intentions, and energies to sow in the world around us. To raise awareness of the role cycles of Nature still play in our modern world.

Our Drum Circle is a  symbolic representation of the ‘Sacred Hoop’ and remind us that all things are equal and connected in the Web of Life. In our Drum Circle gathering we remember the Native peoples who have stewarded these lands for centuries and to our ‘Great Mother Earth’ and all Her gifts and relations. This day we also thank the Sierra Hot Springs and Staff for their commitment to continuing the tradition of stewardship toward  “Life in Balance”. In memory of our ancient ancestors with respect, honor and gratitude for all life is Sacred.

In 2014, spring begins with the  on  March 20 at 12:57 P.M. EDT. As the Vernal Equinox heralds the arrival of spring, it is a time of renewal in both nature and the home, so time for some spring-cleaning!  As with all the other key festivals of the year, there are both Pagan and Christian associations with the Spring Equinox.  To Pagans, this is the time of the ancient Saxon goddess, Eostre, ( Easter )  who stands for new beginnings and fertility.

At the equinoxes, the tilt of Earth relative to the Sun is zero, which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun. (However, the tilt of Earth relative to its plane of orbit called the ecliptic plane, is always about 23.5 degrees.)  See your local Sun rise and set times—and how the day length changes!
